Tennessee Direct Wine Shipping Bill Passes the Senate

Customers in Tennessee may soon be able to order direct shipments of wine from out-of-state wineries, according to a recent article in the Memphis Commercial Appeal. The Tennessee Senate voted 22-8 Monday, April 13, 2009 to approve legislation setting up a system in which out-of-state wineries can register with the state of Tennessee if they wish to ship directly to Tennessee consumers. The companion bill, HB 1155 is scheduled for consideration by the Government Operations Committee on Wednesday, April 29, 2009.
